I joined the Underground Miata Network (UMN) back in 2013. UMN is a fantastic club with like-minded people enjoying their Miatas and a long the way have made some long lasting friendships. UMN has something for everyone whether it be just an Ice Cream Run, single or multi day tours, to the many social events that we hold during the year.

Joining the UMN was about a promise to my late brother that I would make sure his baby would be part of the Ottawa Miata club. Turns out to be the best promise I kept, not only do I stay connected to my brother driving his car in the best Miata Club in North America but the members of this club are the most wonderful people that I have met. My wife José and I are honored to be part of the UMN.

What being a UMN member means to me...sharing passionate drives on winding roads with people who love the Miata as much as I do; being surrounded by an esprit de corps, positive energy, and social activities that make every event memorable. Giving thanks to the dedication of volunteers who keep our UMN community thriving.

As an avid car guy since I was a child I've bought, fixed and driven many cars over the years. I never belonged to a car club though until I joined UMN 8 years ago. If the pure joy of driving Miata's is your thing then this is the club for you! With so many tours and ICRs planned for this season, come join us and see for yourself. Zoom Zoom!

I’ve always loved cars. After owning several British sports cars that always seemed to be leaking something, I bought a 1990 NA… then another… then two NCs, an ND, and finally an NB. In the end, it doesn’t matter which Miata you drive — what matters is that you drive a Miata. There is no better club to do it with.

Joining UMN in 2024 was a great choice for me. It has provided a variety of opportunities for me to drive my car. This has ranged from short trips for ice-cream, day trips to explore our local areas to overnight trips further afield. The other members of UMN are so welcoming and now as social director I can contribute to our club. I am thoroughly enjoying being a member of UMN.

Newly retired and we were looking for a club to join. Buying a Miata was our way of being part of the best car club out there. At a June meeting, we signed up for UMN and the last spot for C2M2-2015. We were so impressed by what the Club delivered that we have been involved in the Executive ever since. Our cars are 2002 and 2008 Special Editions. We love them, the Club, and the special people who are its members. Best decision ever!
