The following applies to all areas of our Club communications. The UMN Club assumes no liability or responsibility, for neither any injury or damage resulting from the use of the information contained therein. Unless otherwise stated, none of the information bears the status of “Factory Approval”. All ideas, opinions, maintenance or modification tips expressed are to be used solely at the reader’s discretion. UMN expresses no approval, authentication, or endorsement. UMN Executive & Site Administrators reserve the right to delete all submissions.

Google Groups – UMN Talk is how we communicate on-line. This is a Bulletin Board / Discussion Forum with an email component. Initial access is granted when Membership is paid & approved.

Google Groups – UMN Talk is meant to be a friendly welcoming non-threatening spot for our Membership.

Respect – Differences of opinion are valued but need to be expressed in a constructive and respectful manner. There is no place for poor manners or rude behaviour. Avoid turning differences into personal conflicts. Listen attentively to the opinions of others and try to see their perspective. We do not tolerate ridicule, harassment or personal abuse including:

  • Posts that promote racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual.
  • Posts that are defamatory, abusive, obscene, profane, offensive, sexually oriented, or otherwise seen to be objectionable.
  • Posts that are intended to harass, annoy, threaten or intimidate any Users of the Bulletin Board / Discussion Forum.
  • This includes the use of messages that target any User(s) with insults, attacks, or personal comments, including use of sarcastic asides and snide comments.
  • As well, it is not allowable to post personal information, including contact information, about other Members without their expressed permission to do so.
  • Anyone wishing to file a complaint about anything presented on the Google Groups – UMN Talk Bulletin Board / Discussion Forum should do so by sending an email to monitor@ttawamiata.com


The Bulletin Board / Discussion Forum is monitored by the UMN Executive or their representative. Anyone in violation of the Code of Conduct / Terms of Service, will be warned in writing. Anyone with a secondary offense, or an initial one deemed to be more serious in nature, will receive BOTH a written warning and a suspension for a period of time to be determined by the UMN Executive. And if there is / are additional offense(s) then it is possible that the person will be Removed from the Bulletin Board / Discussion Forum entirely, and that their Membership within the Club as being “in good standing” will also be reviewed as pursuant to UMN By-Law 7.
