Seventeen (down from 24) cars were able to reschedule for the rain-delayed tour to Bonnechere Caves. Assembling at Kanata Mazda, among like-minded Corvette owners who were lining up for their own tour, we drove twisty roads through pleasant countryside to our destination. Two groups, each led by guides from the family-run business, led us through the underground caves hollowed out by the Bonnechere River. We learned about fossils, the history of the caves and the difference between stalactites (“c” for ceiling) and stalagmites (“g” for ground). Lunch on the deck at Eganville’s Rio Tap & Grill did not disappoint. On the return leg there was ice cream and then many of us cooled off at 1818 Farm and Cidery.
