A full convoy of twelve cars departed Place D’Orleans parking lot to run the route to Patati Patata in Plantagenet on Wednesday June 5th. We were blessed with sunny skies and warm weather that required a wee bit of extra sun protection and hydration.
Unfortunately due to bridge closures and construction work that we learned about having driven the route twice before the ICR – we had to take the same route back as we did to our destination- but alas the long and short twisties and the beautiful Ottawa river views were worth the repeat.
We were greeted by the owners of Patati Patata (Chantal Lapensee and husband) and enjoyed exceptionally fast service which left time for many of us who opted for dinner items to return for an ice cream. And let me say the ice cream portions were exceptionally generous.
The owners of Patati Patata met with the drivers and thanked everyone for the business and ensured that they would remain open until everyone had ordered their last item or used the bathroom.
Martin and I were pleased to welcome new members Len and Joyce Gilchrist and Jim and Nicole Mallamo on our east end tour and we really look forward to future tours with you.
Now for the thanks – big hugs and high fives to Holly and Tony for the amazing sweeping and for keeping the accordion tight and especially for keeping the group together when crossing highway 17 – #skills. We owe you – can possibly return the favour on July 3 – work schedules dependent.
A big thanks to Merv who took the time to tune the CBs of both Martin and I and Tony and Holly – which contributed to seamless communications between lead and sweep. #priceless – we missed you and Peggy but look forward to seeing you at future tours.
Finally a big thanks to the east end clan that opted to end our evening with a decaf at the Tim Hortons at the corner of St. Joseph and Place D‘orleans. Great conversation and laughs were enjoyed by all.
Also big thanks to Bob Gauthier for resolving the technical issue with the one and only very special and loved yellow miata on our run.
Also – we see you Mr. Carson …… next time join us for an ice cream- my treat.
Best !
Pamela et Martin
